Taner Dedezade

Taner Dedezade is a barrister specialising exclusively in international construction law at Corbett & Co.

Most of the projects that he has worked on are civil engineering infrastructure disputes (road/rail) utilising the FIDIC form of contract, particularly the Conditions of Contract for Works of Civil Engineering Construction 4th Edition and Conditions of Contract for Construction 1st Edition (the Red Book). Taner has conducted advocacy both in arbitration and DAB proceedings in relation to his case-load.

Taner is a highly experienced FIDIC specialist and expert. He has trained many delegates in FIDIC and is a lively and engaging speaker.

Taner was called to the Bar of England and Wales in 1996 and was in independent practice as a barrister for just over ten years. As a barrister in independent practice, Taner was appointed as Junior Counsel to the Crown's Civil Litigation Panel from 2000-2007 and was instructed by the Treasury Solicitor acting for various government departments particularly in commercial, employment and directors' disqualification matters. He also practiced in Local Government/Housing work acting for numerous local authorities. He made regular appearances in the County and High Courts (including TCC) and Court of Appeal.

He has a diploma in International Commercial Arbitration from Queen Mary College, London and an MSc. in Construction Law and Dispute Resolution from Kings College, London. He was also awarded the Bickerdike Allen prize for the best performance in the MSc. first-year taught modules. His thesis covered the topic of time-bar clauses and the prevention principle. Taner now acts as a lecturer, tutor and dissertation supervisor on the MSc. course and is a published author.

He is a Fellow of the Chartered Institute of Arbitrators, a committee member of the King's College Construction Law Association (KCCLA), a member of the International Bar Association (IBA), Technology and Construction Bar Association (TECBAR), Adjudication Society (AS), Society of Construction Law (SCL) and the Young LCIA International Arbitration Group.
